Customer Service - many drivers today will be in regular contact with clients of their company and the general public. It is important that they are aware of the company image they portray and have the techniques available to them to deal with people in a professional manner.

  Eco Driving and Good Samaritan Workshop  

Eco Driving - designed to increase a driver’s awareness of the benefits of an Eco driving style.  This course develops techniques which are aimed at reducing both overall fuel consumption and carbon based emissions. It will encourage a driver to think about increasing their safety margins, provide awareness of speed limits and encourage a more pro-active approach behind the wheel, as well as providing a practical update on compliance and the Highway Code.

Good Samaritan - a selection of interactive scenarios and exercises which will take the delegate through a learning experience designed to provoke discussion and reflection relating to their First Aid skills and safe procedures which will need to be applied when first at the scene of an accident.

  • Basic First Aid and life support techniques
  • DRABC
  • Incident management and the law
  • Practical demonstration of incident management

  Mobile Phone/Vehicle Checks & Effective Loading Workshop  

Mobile Phone - designed to give drivers a better understanding of the risks involved with using electronic equipment including mobile phones and satellite navigation equipment while behind the wheel. Subjects also covered include the law relating to phones and the management of distractions behind the wheel.

Vehicle Checks and Effective Loading - a selection of interactive scenarios and exercises take the delegates through a voyage of discovery designed to provoke discussion, reflection and ultimately give a positive learning experience throughout the course. This will be in relation to the drivers vehicle checks responsibilities and safe loading techniques both for LGV and PCV drivers.

Safe Culture - is specifically beneficial for low risk drivers or as a foundation course for further practical (on-road) training.  A selection of videos and exercises take the delegates through a host of scenarios designed to provoke discussion, reflection and ultimately provide a positive learning experience throughout the course.

Tachograph, Drivers Hours - designed to give drivers a better understanding of the different types of tachograph and how to use them correctly. The course also updates drivers on the new digital tachograph now in widespread use.

  • Working time regulations and drivers hours
  • The tachograph and how to use
  • Manual entries – When and how to use
  • Chart retention and returns
  • Downloading data from the digital tachograph

  Urban Workshop  

Urban Workshop - designed for all drivers regardless of their experience. Many drivers spend their time in high risk urban areas and new legislation is being introduced all the time. This course will develop the delegates driving skills in relation to working in an urban area and will include relevant current legislation, dealing with vulnerable road users and defensive driving techniques for the urban environment.

  • Maintaining safety and load security
  • Reducing the risk of accidents in the urban environment
  • Techniques to reduce risk with regards – stress, time pressures, blind spots and deliveries
  • Reducing the risk of Penalty Charge Notices (PCN’s)
  • Improving security and theft prevention measures
